Is there an option to reduce gore?
I think this game looks cool, and am wanting to get my friends interested in order to get a 4-pack, but one of them thinks there is way too much blood and gore. Does anyone know if there is an option to just reduce/turn off the gore? Thanks.

Why would you want to turn it down?
I would more likely prefer to turn it more up! :P
This isn't 1995 were blood and gore was a big deal.

Does it matter why someone doesn't like gore? Obviously not all people like the same thing, and some people don't like gore. I was simply asking if anyone knew if the option existed to turn it down/off, not arguing the merits of whether or not gore is a good thing.

It's the zombie apocolypse. I'm afraid to tell you that gore is kind of a standard in that. I'm fairly certain this game does not provide an option to reduce or remove gore.

Dismembering is part of the part of the game. He could just use blunt weapons and break bones, but heads will still get crushed, and brains will still go flying.

He could always refrain from combat, let you other guys do the dirty work.

I'm almost positive that a dev said the option to gore off is there, it won't stop all heads exploding etc but all blood effects should be turned off (blood splatters).
Though why you'd want to turn the gore off is a mystery to me.

The gameplay looks extremely gory and graphic. Isn’t it a bit too much? Aren’t you concerned about the level of violence in the game?
Dying Light will offer the option to turn off the gory elements of combat, but it is a game targeted at mature users. The violent and graphic nature of combat serves to really give the players a feeling of real danger and fighting to survive, which is integral to the game.

Sometimes I think people would go to boards of games like Postal 2 and ask:

"Hey guys, I think this game is amazing, however I do find certain things very offensive, vulgar and full of gore, can I turn it into a lovely paradise?

Thanks!".

Just my opinion.
I just can imagine someone being interested to play this game without any gore/blood effects... like seriously, whole zombie concept is based on aspect of devoured rotting human corpses.

The is a no gore option from what I read way earlier in the forms. I would personally call it ♥♥♥♥♥ mode though. :)

just imagine your parents seeing you play this incredibly gorey game..
now compare their reaction with much gore and less gore
it'd be nicer :steammocking:

I got a tip for them: Don't play a zombie game if you aren't ready for blood and guts
