Gray screen of death - GPU crash
Game crashes my GPU with a grey screen of death after a while. No other game does this. I guess this is what other people got as well? With all the "hard lockups" and BSOD. I have FX-6300, 8GB DDR3 RAM and R9 270x. It happens randomly. Sometimes after a few hours and sometimes after a few minutes. Heat isn't an issue or anything else. Like I said, no other game gave me a GSOD even when my card was really hot. This is the only one and it happens alot as well. Anyone else have any workarounds or this or anything I could try? And does anyone else get this on intel/nvidia? Or any other setups?

Maybe your GPU is over heating? Have you try setting the GPU Fans on max speed while playing? I know my GPU crashes at one point when playing far cry 4 and it turns out to be a heating issue. It keep crashing when ever the temperature goes over 70 degrees Cel. I had it set to manual max fan speed and that kinda fix the issue. But in the end I still had to send it back for a factory warrenty because it was faulty. After all the game isn't exactly optimized properly so maybe the GPU is over working itself. Or have you tried upgrading or downgrading the GPU's drivers.

Yes it happened to me. And I know one of the people on my friends list also because that is how we added each other. They made a topic on here a while ago about it. We both have same card as you.

When playing I'd get a quick screen flicker during game-play, and then later it would full on crash. I thought it was driver crash, but maybe it was due to heating. I remember the temps were through the roof. Haven't had the problem before playing Dying Light and haven't had it since I quit playing Dying Light for other games.

Nothing to do with temps. It got really hot with other games as well and I didn't get so much as a flicker. With Dying Light it's random each time. Sometimes after 10 minutes and sometimes after 2 hours. I'm using the latest drivers as well, Omega release. When it first started it also sometimes crashed the driver so I could go back to desktop if I used task manager to close it but the screen would be filed with corruptions and artifacts and whatnot. So it's the game, not me. No one knows any workarounds for this? I setting the fans to maximum as well, to make sure the card doesn't overheat and that didn't help. I'm all out of ideas, I doubt my card is faulty since as I said, no other game had issues like this and I played alot of games.

Same problem and same setup

I've been researching this a lot and there are some common reasons

1. Your GPU overheats

2. You PSU isn't powerful enough

3. Driver issue
