I'd greatly appriciate any help..
To play with my collegues from work, and to play with my friends.
Like i said, i have tried alot of different software.
I like to make my own private LAN servers, give my friends an unique experience. And to play without any trolls around, i like to mess around with things in my own server.
Im not talking about Dying Light here (Which works perfectly with the internet connection via Steam)
Im talking about games in general. Especially the ones that need LAN for coop (ArmA 3 for instance)
i know this is an old topic but i am facing the same problem: a lot of these vpn service are now terminated. I'll add to OP's list : wippien, unite, and lanbridger. I was using the last one (mostly because it was the lightest and simplest of all) until a couple of month it went offline.
This is most unfortunate because some games are laggy like hell when you play via steam (i'm mostly thinking about Civilization 5), and were perfectly fine when playing lan mode via a vpn.
Hey,
I managed to get "Evolve" to work, i don't know why it didn't work back then but it does now.
Its very simple to use:
1. Register
2. Download the software
3. Log on
4. Add your friends into your friends list
5. Create a LAN group (note that the group maker doesn't need to host the game, anyone in the group can do it.)
5. Get your friends into the group by inviting them.
6. Fire up a LAN server on any game
7. Profit
I was a little surprised to be honest when this thread popped up on my notifications, i hope i can be any help.
My problem with Evolve is its up to 300Mb of memory consumption, which is something seriously wrong for a vpn. I think the dev wanted to do too much with it and this thing is 90% of useless feature and memory leaking. This is most unfortunate since this software is made by the same team which used to dev Lanbridger.
But i guess i'll try again since it seems there is no other option at all.
Yeah, its litterally the only working VPN software available for me at least.
