Dying Light
Fix for OBS users and Streaming
Hey guys, First I want to apologize if this is a repost. I've scoured the internets looking for a reason why OBS makes my game lag terribly. I'm going to quickly throw out what I did to fix this issues to stream on OBS and Twitch with much less lag.

Start Dying light -
Bring up task manager and go to processes -
Click on dyinglight.exe and go to set affinity-
Set the affinity to ONLY USE CPU 0 -
this will make sure the game only tries to use one CPU ( which, from what i heard, is all it can use)

Second, Start OBS -
Go to Task Manager and then processes and select OBS -
select it to only use CPU 1, 2 and 3(assuming you have a 4 core processor) -
P.S. I have not tried this but it might be possible to just set it to use CPU 1 and will work just as well depending on how well OBS manages processing power.

Start twitch in whatever internet explorere you use -
Go to task manager and processes -
right click the browser you use -
Set it to use only CPU 1, 2, and 3 (assuming you have a 4 core processor) -
P.S. As stated above if you want to try it out, set this to use CPU Core 2 and see if this affects performance.

The reason I put this up is that this was the only way for me to achieve acceptable performance for streaming with OBS and Twitch. Alternately I have a fix for users that have the dreaded Black screen when doing full screen, problem

Open Dying Light -
right click around sources and add -
choose game capture -
chose dying light -

Again, I apologize if this is a repost but I looked everywhere to fix my specific problem. Although this won't give you instant 60fps while streaming, it will make your game far more playable while doing so. I would also suggest lowering your OBS resolution and not having the game showing on your screen/screens while playing.

Thanks man! I was wondering why I was lagging so much using OBS.
also, I forgot to add, if you set Dying light to use only CPU 0 and it freezes, just let it use all CPU's, since it will only use CPU 0 anyway. You will need to mess with the settings a bit to get it working properly, but the idea is to get any program that would use the CPU intensly to use either a singlular CPU or any CPU other than the one using the game.
Thanks again! Just tested and works like a charm for me!
I realize this is an old post, but it's worth mentioning that the affinity option is in the details tab, not the processes tab if using Win8.1 or Win10 (unsure about previous versions of Windows).
