7 Min Night vs ~Hour Day?
So from what I have read, the Night cycle only last 7 total running minutes compared to the Day cycle's 57ish.

Can anyone really explain why this is the case?

There is a rest feature, to skip night, so Night being an issue for players can't be it.
"Farming" night for XP "could" be a reason, but the Volitiles can really throw a wrench into any farming if you aren't already well-leveled.
Game Performance can't be it; night actually seems to be less taxing.
PvP can't be the issue either, because there is the PvP toggle.

So what made them skew so heavily on the Day cycle instead of making it a simple 50/50 system?? Really confused about this since, imho, Night is where the fun is.

I read that it is because a dude cried when playing this game at night. But honestly after your first night it isnt bad at all. I honestly don't know why but I have played 44 hours of the game and the night being 7 min has never bothered me. That's just my expierience of course though.

Actually day is about 10 minutes from 21.00 to 6.00, the rest of the time there is a day. But some missions can put day/night cycle on hold.

That's still silly that they chose such a unfair affinity for daylight; I love playing the game during the night cycles, and while I would agree that it doesn't much affect how entertaining the game may be, I still feel like it was a misstep and, in all honesty, something that can and should be altered in order to help essentially justify a "rest" feature.

I mean, there can't be many people out there that would chose, first of all, to neglect the rest system, play at night, and cry about it, and secondly decide that 7 minutes of waiting is "too much" for a player to wait in a safe area until daylight. It's just weird.
I found this weird too. The game gives us a choice to skip the night, but it only lasts 7 minutes, errrrm what's the point? I'd rather making the night lasted longer (15 minutes is alright) and more terrifying (if you know how to read Volatiles' vision on the map then the night becomes a child's play). Having difficulties escaping will makes player appreciate safe houses more IMO.
Btw, does AJSA stands for Angry Joe Show Army? :D

No.
Day - 6:00 - 21:00 (30 minutes)
Night 21:00 - 6:00 (18 minutes)

Lead Game Designer Maciej Binkowski has announced that the day cycle will last for approximately 64 minutes, while the night cycle will last for approximately 7 minutes. When asked about the short nighttime, Binkowski said "I've seen a grown man cry during the night, so yeah, 7 minutes is definitely enough".[21]

So "approx" 7 mins for Night, and 57 mins for Day, direct from the dev.

Yes lol

I can assume that this is really only implemented in the game as of now because they clearly are going to DLC this out the ying-yang, and as such will probably add some addition "difficulty" settings, like no mini-map, no survivor sense, longer night, etc. I've even seen mods capable of adding a "Key to check watch" keybind, so it seems like there is only a matter of time before it changes, but it feels like a cop-out to just bait people into DLC.

I don`t care what announced devs before release. I said how day/night cycle realised in game NOW.
