Day time = 57 min
Night time = 7 min
I mean, there can't be many people out there that would chose, first of all, to neglect the rest system, play at night, and cry about it, and secondly decide that 7 minutes of waiting is "too much" for a player to wait in a safe area until daylight. It's just weird.
Btw, does AJSA stands for Angry Joe Show Army? :D
Day - 6:00 - 21:00 (30 minutes)
Night 21:00 - 6:00 (18 minutes)
Lead Game Designer Maciej Binkowski has announced that the day cycle will last for approximately 64 minutes, while the night cycle will last for approximately 7 minutes. When asked about the short nighttime, Binkowski said "I've seen a grown man cry during the night, so yeah, 7 minutes is definitely enough".[21]
So "approx" 7 mins for Night, and 57 mins for Day, direct from the dev.
Yes lol
I can assume that this is really only implemented in the game as of now because they clearly are going to DLC this out the ying-yang, and as such will probably add some addition "difficulty" settings, like no mini-map, no survivor sense, longer night, etc. I've even seen mods capable of adding a "Key to check watch" keybind, so it seems like there is only a matter of time before it changes, but it feels like a cop-out to just bait people into DLC.
