Because of "traditional" story writing? To be honest, after the tutorial you can nearly see the rest of the story. The writer took every cliche and put it in the game.

- Jade : love of the hero dies about 1 minute after she rescued him from death (why not split the dosis of the medizin between them and they are both fine for the next hours)
- unexperienced, hot-headed boy dies und zombifies after 5 minutes after a wound, a little bit to fast while the hero in the beginning got bitten und survived the whole way back to the tower
- the big enemy boss know everything and can seek you wherever you are (ok he got your phone...), little homage to the governeur of Walking Dead imho
- friendly doctor get killed (he was also black -> Quotenneger check)
- hero activate signal on the tower about 10 seconds before the airstrike -> perfect timing

Besides of that, the overall atmosphere was quite dumb if you think about it. The whole city swarmed with zombies, hundreds on the street and nearly EVERYONE doesn't take them seriously. They moved freely vom A to B while they could be dead around the next corner.

I thought he would have used it on her and then used the one he swiped from the air drop before burning the rest on himself.

@Refas. From the very beginning I was thinking that they will be together (Jade and Crane). At first she felt regret to Crane, because Amir died, but then when she saw his engagement in peoples lives she changed her opinion about our hero. And then I was sure they will survive. Brave man saves the pretty girl and both live hapily. Well, ♥♥♥♥ no :(

@Coors. Yeah I though about the same. It wasn't showed if he used it or not. So I bet developers simply forgot about it. Damn I would pay another 60 euros for dlc with better ending...
Daethz Feb 5, 2015 @ 2:05pm
it happend for reasons obviously :P
Challenger Feb 5, 2015 @ 2:09pm
@Daethz Surely. But I don't understand this reason. They could survive together :/

They needed an emotional attachment. However, you only see Jade a few times in cinematics and do one lousy mission with her. That's not enough to evoke the feels. I honestly didn't care one way or the other if she died or not.

They should've put her in more missions, more cinematics where you bond and act like friends and so on. If you want an emotional attachment in your game you have to work hard on actually creating one.

The fact that she's pissed at you for killing her brother who tuned into a zombie because of his own supidity makes no sense either. Come on. I can understand that she's sad but still. She starts acting like a butt-hurt little brat and runs away? -_-

I started to hate her when.

When she tries to open a care package with a crowbar when you've never done that before and whines about you going to do it when she already planned to do it.

At the same time she believes you're not able to fight off a few people when you've already fought your way through 3 groups of them when going in there.

She kinda blames you for a lot of things too. Like the death of Amir(I believe that was his name) in the start. Not my problem you decided to help me. Also why did you just drop me for a while and help him? You've clearly got the skills.

Then it was for the death of annoying boy and I went out in the NIGHT to get him. Also the main hero told the boy to not do it and the hero didn't inform him of the explosive because he had already heard about it. Maybe she should blame whoever informed annoying boy about the explosives.

Then she runs off alone and gets captured by the enemies and gets bitten really quickly.
So I didn't care when she died. Same went for annoying boy.

She was good in the start but later on? Meh.

@Zefar, @Fond3ll:
Look. There is a zombie apocalypse and she has only that boy, her brother, Rahim.
She blames Crane for his death, because he brought the explosives. Emotions. It's all about emotions. And she heard that Crane broke his neck. Maybe she didn't think soberly when she blamed Crane, because of loss of the only family member.
Why she started to act like a little brat? Because she's a girl, okay? Tough on the surface but sensitive inside. And hell, there's a zombie apocalypse! After so many days in that quarantine something cracked in her.

You gotta immerse yourself into the Dying Light universe, then take a good long look at the world and the people in it, really seemed more real the Dead Island (Which i couldn't even immerse into..)
Rahims is this kid who wants to desperately prove himself to everyone, trying to be the hero and gets killed in the process. One that many can familiarize with..

Jade on the other hand is protective about her only family member left. She wasn't even supposed to live the birth, she's a 3 times world kickboxing champion, like @Mike Powell said, tough on the surface but sensitive inside.
Also one of the few friends the player has and is protective about him too, since she kinda replaced Amirs place with the player. Clearly she deeply cares about the player, and everyone in Harran. She gets captured by Rais.. because he was listening in on the comms all the time and beign a massive ♥♥♥♥. He got her bit and the player is desperately trying to get to her in time, ultimately failing and she sacrifaces herself to save the player for the good of many..

Now think if this happened in real life. How would you react if the last family member would have gotten killed? Would you have sacrifaced yourself for the good of many? Think about her as a real person and she starts to seem very likable, atleast for me.
And oh, its a zombie game.. im surprised there is a charcter or two to like. Its not frikken Telltales The Walking Dead.. so good there are some likable characters.

Wrong a bit

Jade and Crane found the Explosives together at the School
She blames him for not keeping his Promise early at the Game to watch for her Brother. (The Time Crane meets Brecken first time) Later she forgave him because she knew thats the Way of Life and accepted it before she died. Im not sad about her. More for Rahim, that got me harder than Jades Death. I liked Rahim. He was cute and a easy going dude

@Robo_warrior.
Thank You for your post. All facly said.
@Waywolf. Really, that post is a miracle. I already forgot the beginning of the game, that they found the bombs together and that Crane made a promise to keep an eye on Rahim. I must play it again soon to recall everything. I focused myself on doing as many side quests as possible and the main plot became a bit "foggy" to me. You opened my eyes.

Really looking in for a sequel, with more and better characters like in this one. I can see it happening

um

Jade gave the explosives to Omar who was the bomb expert. Rahim had already found out about the explosives before you talk to him on the roof.
Leaving the explosive in the crates would be a dangerous thing because then the enemy would have them.

So all in all it is not my problem that Rahim went out and got killed. I was the only one trying to save the boy in the middle of the night too.

She wasn't thinking rationally.. She didnt know the whole story, not even the part how ge got the explosives, She didnt know that the player wasn't involved in the mission planning in any way or shape, the only thing she heard was that the mission went wrong and the player had to kill him. I think she even missed the part where he got infected.. Then later on the player tells her that he is a GRE agent and had been to her lying the whole time. Of course she is pissed, she needed someone to be pissed at again.. its her last family member and the conditions are horrible, i know i wouldn't just shake it off.

I guess the ending of the game predict s the sequel, when Crane decide to keep the results instead of giving it GRE. And he said something like "I'll be in touch when I've decided what to do next". This sentece means there must be something else.
