What makes me scare are real people that want to do you harm, that what scare me, not some zombie in a game
wait until you reach a level 2 pursuit lasting minutes with at least half a dozen of the buggers up your bum lol. ah man that was thrilling as hell. and so satisfying once I managed to find a spot to hide and sneak away. there is an achievement for that btw the first time it happens lol.
I like to stay out at night sometimes and head to mission objectives since it's pretty exciting sprinting around and trying to avoid the volatiles without slowing myself down. and if I trigger them, it's a nice little adrenaline high depending ont he size of the train and how close it comes to getting me sometimes when i make a poor judgement call about a surface to hop or turn to make at night. I also like the darkness of the night, even witht he fleshlight on only the small area it covers is really visible at least with my brightness settings anyways.
it's more of a random jump scare than poop your pants constantly, but there is also the rush of tank mode as a survivor from l4d2 mutations. depends on the size of the train you're running though. and close calls with the terrain at night. I collected the loot rooms from a specific side quest at night, and I took a bit longer looting them than I would during the day. I was worrying about setting off the volatiles patroling around outside the stashes without being able to close the darn doors. much more fun than the stab n' grabs during the day. where you can just rush n' attack your way through everything.
Going out at night is not scary, just annoying. But now that I have unlocked the cloak potion, things are a lot easier at night.
as long as you only walk and are nott oo close to the night time volatiles if you are camo'd walking dead style they will usually leave you alone. I'm only around 15% and finishing sidequests atm, but my survivor skill is lvl 15 and combat is lvl 14 iirc so I have both camo skill points invested now. I hate the visuals from them, but they're pretty handy in tight situations in closed quarters. especially in certain quarantine zones.
by the way, I actually found a nest for some of the night volatiles not too far from the tower. iIwas on a flower picking sidequest when I decided to check for a hidden area I suspected as i came across it. near a quarantine zone. pretty much all I wanna says ince some people might cry over more specific details. it was a pretty small area, but a really cool thing to find with an active night volatile inside of it heh. during the day. some text came up saying I was entering a dark zone or area or something like that as I came out into it. I thought to check for another hidden area after seeing the 'destiny' cave a bit earlier on a different sidequest. also picking flowers. I was in the mindset of exploring for other possible secret tunnels.
The zombies are hilariously stupid at day.
The night is way too short and the volatiles are way too weak for it to be scary. I use the night to kill dozens of volatiles and increase my power level at insane speeds.
Scary is Alien Isolation and Amnesia Dark Descent....cant kill the enemy but you can hide if you find a place fast enough
Second time was that damn school, something about schools and zombies are a huge nope factor for me.
