WHERE DO I GO FOR HELP BESIDES THE CONDESCENDING STEAM COMMUNITY
open device manager,
find monitors in the list,
left click it to expand the list,
it will probably have "generic pnp monitor" but could have something else,
left click to highlight then right click and select uninstall.
restart your computer and after it has booted check to see that it has reinstalled the driver(doubtfull that it hasn't but if not in device manager right click in free space and select scan for hardwear changes.
Then check the game and see it it has worked, if it hasn't you may need to alter every games settings files to make it start in a resoultion your monitor can support.
Change the resoulution to what your desktop currently is.
click file
click open
browse to C:\users\*your account name*\documents\dying light\out\settings
on the bottom right of the window is a button that says "Text Documents *.txt" click that and select "All Files *.*"
you should see 2 files now video.scr and audio.scr
select video.scr and open it
Find where it says something like "Resolution(1920,1080)" and change the numbers to match your desktop resolution
