Pact with Rais tower climb
Apparently the only way to see if your guy will grab something is to jump towards it and see if you plummet to your death or not. Awesome. And sometimes he'll grab it and it's ok and another attempt he'll just miss it and plummet to his death. There seems no way to tell beforehand if he'll grab it or not.

I'm having a hell of a time of a trying to climb this tower as well. There does not seem to be any consistency to the character grabbing / missing. I've tried different variants e.g. shift + space (which seems to work most but not all the time) and space on it's own (which appears to be a 25/75 split).

And having climbed all of the towers in Far Cry 3 & 4 I'm pretty sure it's not me.

The control system could do with being a bit more informative or intuative (on it's side).

And yusupov there is really no point in calling someone thick for this, especially considering you constructed a sentance like that lol.

I agree the jump/grab system is a little on the wonky side but once you get used to it it gets better not perfect but better.

Found out holding space does the trick every time :D

Towers are indeed a pain and poorly done. There are the obvious yellow striped horizontal bars we knew we can grab...then the game degrades into "can we grab that gray horizontal bar or fall to our death" somewhere along the line the devs seem to fail to remain consistant in game play, which is disappointing.
Wait until you get to the end sequence and the game becomes a "run for your life, can't fight, run more, jump more...die more" and then once you get through that, it's a "HEY, we want to shove it in your face that this is a console game" final ending sequence... watch cut scene, punch a key, watch cut scene, punch key, watch cut scene, punch key...(you get the idea)

The tutorial said you had to hold space ;-;

Holding space too lonbg can get you killed too. Depending upon how often the game checks for the function (in this case space)
If you are hanging on to something and holding space down, sometimes the game will cause you to jump (usually in the direction you happen to be looking)
There's been a couple of times I held it down and all of a sudden my char will jump up and findind nothing to grasp, will grasp at some invisible wall and slowly slide down. Sometimes he'll grasp where he was...sometimes, he will fall.
TL needs to decide if players can grasp "ALL" of the gray horizontal bars or color all tower 'climables' with the yellow and black stripes.

In addition to the yellow and black, there is also the "dangling rope" visual, which tells you can jump and grab whatever it is on. That was in some places in ... the antenna tower ? ... where it would otherwise have looked like unsafe to jump.

I've been able to use the rope on the bridge (get the lights mission) to slide down, but never tried to use one as they always seem a bit too risky as it's more like a leap of faith because the game is too inconsistant. ;-)

I meant the "short piece of rope lying on / partially hanging over something" graphic cue, those exist all over the place. They mark things you can grab.

yes, I think they are systematically placed in every spot where there could be any doubt about the way to follow... I think there is no situation where player is left helpless. Anyway, I will observe this with detail in my next game-run...

it's not, it's just if you accidently double hit space when it comes out... well

Nice knowing
