how to kill big zombies with hammers?

i want to take control of safe zone, but there are big zombie with hammer. my most powerful weapon is machete. can i inflict any damage to them (previously i tried to kill zombies like this by electricity, but this didn't work)

Throw them with throwing stars in the face, it works like a charm.

Getting the dodge skill works wonders, let it swing then run up to it and hit it 1-2 times followed by a dodge backwards.. rince and repeat.

Ranger bow max damage usually kills them in 1 on head
Alternatively you could use guns but i dont think op is that high a level

depends what level you are but just climb somewhere an start throwing (your weapon work too)
if you have charge attack skill (one handed) you go go whack him once to few times (increases with diff setting an how weak your weapon is)
