STuck on Prepare light traps quest

Hi

Im on the 1st assignment in the slums, and Im preparing the last 2 light traps in the train yard.. however I cannot jump to the lamposts. The one closest to the bridge looks easy, but the one in the middle of the yard..

I go up onto the freeway, use the bus and get onto the big large building roof, then theres a small thin metal ledge juts out near the pole with the box on.. I run along it but I cannot seem to land on the ledge on the pole..

Or am i doing it wrong?.. this is driving me nuts, because i cant get past this quest to play the game,.. kinda reminds me of the oldy tomb raider ledge to legde jumps.. just cant quite get it... aghhh :)

I remember this driving me mad. I ended up jumpting from the metal building with the holes in the roof.
It took me quite a few attempts and was frustrating having to climb on top of the building again.

I found it easier once i was using mouse and keyboard if that is any help. Good luck

Monk: I was on this for a while as well, trying to jump to the lamp post closest to the freeway overpass. However, that is NOT the lamp post you need to get to but the OTHER LAMP POST. You can access the lamp post (the one further away from the overpass) by jumping from a structure that sticks out from the metal building, just below the roof line. Turn on the switch and the mission completes.

Easiest just to climb up the utility pole next to trap nearest the overpass. You can jump from the pole to the trap.

Thats what I mean, the small stone/metal outcrop which you get to by walk along the building loft walkways and through the hole in the roof.

Thanks for the tips all.. at least I know Im doing the right thing, ill keep trying.. however, my patience is wearing thin.. haha..


Q... So do you "sprint" along the outcrop or just run normally?

If I recall, I got on top roof near the lightpost. There was a small, thin, metal ledge that comes off of the roof a few feet. I simply got on it, sprinted foward, and was able to land on the lightpost, and pull myself up to rig it.

Sorted it... I found that by turning on the trap underneath the bridge (by hitching up the pole and jumping to it), I didnt need to switch on the trap by the large building door, which was a mistake.. to even try as the game gave you the 2 choices...

I tried to take down the boss at the power station, but just ran round him.. which ill probably regret later.. haha.

Struggled with this for a while. Everything seems WAAY too far. I tried the one to the left when facing the two objectives from the rooftop with holes and fell.

I went back to the original one I didn't see any way of getting over to (the one on the right next to freeway overpass) and studied it carefully.

I bit counter intuitive, but I noticed the "ledge" you can't seem to grab from just over the hole (you climb up not grab the ledge mid-way) and also noticed the wall bent out keeping you from jumping from the bus roof onto it as well. This lead me to believe this was purposely blocked.

So, I looked further down the freeway and seen another part of the wall broken out. You pretty much just go way down there and duck down into a fire escape like thing, jump onto the ledge and run down it, then jump from that to the pole (I actually jumped short on the wrong side but was able to clip/jump to the other side with the panel).

That fire escape look like you could go up it (had a ladder), so there might have been an easier way instead of running across the zombie-laden freeway but the bus had some decent money in it anyways.
