why?

Game has native support for 360 and XBO controllers. Just plug it in and go. Unless youre trying to remap buttons to non-native selections, then you should just do that through cfg files.

Because I have Gamestop PS3 wired controller. It's recognized as regular USB controller. I've always used x360ce, only game which didnt work at launch so far it was Unity but they fixed it now.

Thats why I'm asking did someone manage to fix that.

I feel your frustration. But in all honesty it's gonna be easier for you and less frustration to just invest in an xbox controller, all your probs will be resolved from doing so.
Just buy an X1 controller and be done with it.

I'm fine with playing on k+m :) It's not really frustration, just wondering =) I will get xbox360 controller anyways, it was time after so many years.

what sucks is that I HAD this going with a PS2 controller and 360ce but now that I had to change comps to an updated windows 10 comp I CANT FIGURE IT OUT, refuses to work

Use x360ce 64bit version(x360ce_x64) and rename xinput1_3.dll to xinput1_4.dll.
I can use DualShock4(*) to play DyingLight on Windows10(64bit).
*connect with bluetooth. It's recognized as wireless controller as Windows.

Doing this thing but in a different method worked for me. Go to game settings in x360.ce 64 bit then select dying light then check 64bit 1.4 and uncheck 1.3 the app will show an error just hit continue it will fix it.
