:O
I only fought one infected so far. In Dead Island, Infected are incredibly fast and screamed constantly. But now they talk? That's pretty cool, can't wait to see.

Yes, I've noticed it too that some zombies can still "talk". It makes you feel weird when you kill a "talking" zombie. You usually see zombies as cannon fodder.

Yep they talk.

It's like part of them are still human and are screaming "I want out" bascially.

I met a survivor of some kind of science team who explained to you how the recently infected seem to "talk". But he explained it was like they were asleep or brain dead and just saying stuff without any actual consciousness directing it. It is pretty odd though to have one of them beg to be spared only to have it lunge at you again. No, no, into the fires for you, young lady! :-)

I'm glad this little detail is being noticed :)

They are what we call 2nd Stage Infected - the limbo zone between being human and a full-blown infected. Although the virus takes over your mind, putting you in this really aggressive state, once in a while your consciousness breaks through - and that's when you realize that you're becoming something else and you're begging for it to stop.

So in other words they are "frash" zombies?

I can also see most of the 2nd Stage infected are mostly runners/scouts. (Make sense since it is they who have the greatest risk to be infected)

Aye I noticed this as well.. It's especially apparent when you bash their heads.

"P.. please... make it ... stop.."
"Help... me..."
"I.. I'm sorry!"
"AARHHH NOooooO!"

What really creeped me out in Dead Island was how suicider wimpered "help me". Gave me chills.

I hope Dying Light has similar enemies. I'm not that far yet. :)

They reminded me a bit of the Bobs from Marathon.

"Thank God it's you!" *boom!*

theres an NPC that descibes this situation. He talks about walking in on a zombie that he thought was human because it sounded like he/she was talking

Yeah, it was shocking. I actually halted my attack and got pimpslapped for my trouble, but it was awesome indeed.
