Lan with one copy?
Like the tite says, is it possible to buy one copy of this game and play the coop campaign with someone else on LAN with steam offline mode like you can in Borderlands 2/TPS

Do you know that or are you just guessing?
This site say it has LAN support: http://www.co-optimus.com/game/3192/pc/dying-light.html

it might be possbile becasue there is a lan option for the game id test it but only have one decent computer to play dying light. But it should technically work.

Lan a single copy? It doesn't work that way unless it is pirated. Just because you WANT it to work doesn't mean it does.

Why would it not work? Seems like it should work no problem. Care to explain why it would not work?

Yep, bought and tried it today, it works perfectly! I hate when people just say no to a question they know nothing about!

There is a difference between actual LAN and playing a game hot seat on 1 pc. LAN, or local area network, simply assumes you are playing with more than 1 device hooked up onto the same network. So 2 pcs on 1 router, and both pc's have their own copy. He didnt just say no to something he had no idea about, it's an INCREDIBLY good assumption that the answer would be no. Infact the game saying it has Lan support probably has Nothing to do with the fact that you can play split screen coop.

Possible. Use Family Sharing and two steam accounts(you and your friend). But one PC must be online, and another offline.

Yeah, like i said later in the tread, i have now figured out that it works perfectrly. Thanks.

Considering the fact that Family Sharing tries to stop two machines running one library at the same time.. this might be considered a breach of the ToS, and I sincerely doubt it was intentional for people to be able to do this. Do so at your own risk.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, it is my game, i can use it hovever i want, it also works by logging into the same steam account in offline mode, and that has not changed sense the beginning of time :-P

First of all, it's not your game, it's your Steam Account's, which Valve hold all ownership over.
Second of all, don't be rude when people are trying to help and ensure you don't get into any unintentional trouble.

After reviewing the ToS, I've found one account may be logged in twice on the same home network for the sake of In-Home Streaming, however the ToS doesn't say anything for or against utilising this to play the accounts' games under multiple instances. As you're circumventing Family Sharing, you may still be in breach of the rules, so I simply adivse you take caution if you do so.

I was not trying to be rude, but stating that it is b, ullshit. Lan enabled games have always worked this way, and if steam or the developers did not want to give us that option, they would not. You can log in to as many PC's as you want and play the games as long as you are in offline mode. I don't even have to use any form of family sharing, so just stop with that nonsense.

@Rick Grimes
I got irretated bacause you said it was not possible, even though i said in my OT that it is already possible with Borderlands, and you kept on ignoring that, saying it does not work that way. But never mind.
