Gunslinger mission. Can't find Dawud's Pistol

I went to the home in the harbor southeast of the tower but the gun that is supposed to by the dead man is not there. Where do I find the pistol for Dawud?

When you track a side quest, isn't a exclamation mark supposed to appear on the map? Because I don't see it for any of the sidequest I select.

There is no exclamation mark, because you simply have to find any random gun.

It does kind of. He just wants a gun, any gun.

Yeah, just go and lockpick a bunch of police vans. You find guns like you do any other weapon, they're just rarer.

I don't think you can find any gun (well apart from that gun from the dead fisherman) during the early part of the game. In terms of percentage of story, I haven't monitored that but I am quite sure that you need to go past a chunk of the story before you start to find gun by picking police van.

Survivor level 10+ I believe starts having guns in police vans.

i have a pistol in my inventory that i dont use for i got rais gun that i use i can give you the one i dont use.

Yeah, I think it's a bit before that. I think I might have found one in a police van as early as rank 6, but I'm really not sure. There's another forum somewhere on here that explains basically everything about the guns, if anyone can find it.

I found my first assault rifle and pistol during the protection money collection quest for Rais. I was maybe level 5 when I did that quest, so you can definitely find guns a lot sooner than people think. Like people said, it all boils down to luck with lockpicking vans.

Also, there is that apartment complex on the western part of the map with an electrified roof (two generators are on top you must switch off) with three pistols and two medical supply boxes inside one of the buildings. You should be able to scale the adjacent building across the commons and use the zipline to the roof.

Nah, I tried that a while ago. You can't actually collect anything on that roof until later on in the game, unfortunately. Guess they don't want people farming there early on.

Sounds about right. If that area was available from the start, that's exactly where I would head on my next play-through.
