Is there a pattern to selecting throwable items?!?!
I can't believe this. Looked all through my keybindings, and nowhere did I see it mentioned how to select throwables. Tab and mousewheel change melee weapons (and, I guess, projectile weapons when I get them) and the middle-mouse button throws whatever throwable item happens to be currently selected, but..

I randomly pushed buttons until I noticed the 1, 2, 3 keys randomly select the throwables. But is there a pattern to this? In a sometimes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy game like this, you need to be able to select something as fast as possible and then throw that something, and you'd like to know what that something is!! Not have to push a button and randomly wait for it to appear in the equipped-throwable section, and then toss it!! Sheesh... am I missing something?

It is listed.

Options > Controls > Key Bindings (On the bottom of the menu or press F) > Inventory (Click the E on screen or press E until you get to it)

So, yes... you missed something.

There is a pattern. It should just be cycling through the order they are in your inventory, with 1 and 2 being next and previous, respectively.

I thought I cycled through all those. Oh well. I might have stopped after seeing Inventory & Movement and thought that was all of them. I blame lack of sleep (three 12-hr shifts in a row), and a debilitating intestinal bug. Finally recovered and wanted to destroy some zombies, then did the Quarantine Tunnel mission, followed up immediately by the first real night-time mission, and I was drained.

Thanks, now that makes sense. Sorta. Still seems like a silly way to design a weapon and throwables scheme. I prefer 1 for favorite melee, 2 for best throwable, 3 for best projectile, etc. As it is, I think I can work with it.

Thanks for the help. I might not die (in frustration) nearly as much. If I'm in control, then I can blame it on needing to get better. But if the controls trip me up, then I get irritated... :-(

Yeah, I rebinded the crap out of all the weapon selection keys, it sounds like you might want to try the same. It can be really helpful to have that instant access instead of hitting tab or 1/2 several times.

If you hold down 1 you get a radial menu where you can select an item by using the mouse..

Will do.

I'll check it out, but usually not fond of radial anything, except tires and engines.
