All I have the option to do is choose a save game, or go advanced and "Play Game: Hard", or start a new campaign. Where the heck are you guys seeing an option to switch difficulty?
i dont remember very well but i think that is what you need to do to get the option of changing the game difficulty to show up
You just can't be on a DLC quest. Anything else enables the difficulty change pressing F when selecting the campaign. Even non DLC quarantine zones.
are you sure you are not on a DLC or quarantine zone ?
You then press
PLAY -> PLAY CAMPAIGN -> PRESS "F" FOR ADVANCED -> PLAY AND SWITCH TO "X"
I don't think you can swap the difficulty mid-game.
PS: Hard difficulty can go to hell.
Yes, you can change diffiuclty mid game from the Main Menu. There are exceptions though, such as when a DLC quest is being tracked. However, it gets a bit odd when including The Following. For instance:
Post game, tracking Bozak Horde (DLC): No difficulty change possible in Main Campaign.
Post game, tracking Bozak Horde (DLC): Then yes diffiuclty can change in The Following.
This can lead to different difficulty ratings between the two modes, which in turn, can cause confusion when trying to use Matchmaking.
