what is film grain effect
Can anyone tell me what film grain effect is ? I dont know what that option does always when I change it from on/off it looks always the same ? I even took the pictures to compare the differences but there are none ? What it is ?

It's possible film grain only appears in cutscenes and dialogue or something like that. I never use these ridiculous "cinematic" effects like DoF and film grain, so I can't say for sure where it appears.

yeah I kinda have an idea how it probably looks like but I never encountered it even I had this option always on. Some comparison pics would be nice

You can see the blur mainly around the pole on the left side of the screen that it causes
I'm like kotekzot I don't care for these types of effects and usually disable them if I can.

if you turn on film grain you should look into open sky in which it is more noticeable

Well disable them... But anyway. Film Grain is only really noticeable in-game. The main menu already has a custom one, so they don't overlap eachother or anything, Here's a note for next time. Always test in-game graphical effects and settings while within a game to compare and contrast their effects.

for some reason I can only see a thumbnail on that other pic. But I alsoo made myself a little comparison from a better angle and in-game, and I finally noticed the little change what that
does.

it is noticable especially down on the wall it is slighty darker and grainy.

I like the film grain it goes well with the VHS horror film soundtrack.
