Is it possible to play this entirely as a single player?

I see there is an online co-op aspect to Dying Light, and I have no interest in multiplayer gaming. Will I lose out on something if I try to play this entirely by myself?

As a matter of fact, I barely ever touched the online aspect of the game (PVP and stuff) and 250 hours in, I don't think I missed out on anything in particular cuz I always play all my stuff in single-player mode

I only finished in single player to be honest, twice, its really good, you don't even need to play coop as this game has different difficulty levels, normal should be a good experience, hard could be "hard", once you learn a few things, its a really good experience.

how would co op make my experience better though? I play on Nightmare, especially in The Following DLC there are these Thug-Biters that are very tanky. Even with highest dmg weapons in the game I don't 1 shot many of my enemies

If I were to play with some kid yelling in my ear some random Enwards or whatever whilst I have even tankier enemies to deal with, would all that honestly make my experience better? I doubt it, but that's just me
