Can I cheat / mod on online coop?

I have a friend I want to play with, I bought him dying light. I might want to install mods or cheats to play with him. Is that allowed? Game says it has VAC

Bear in mind that this game, like many others, is VAC protected so uwing cheats might result in VAC ban forever tied to your account, cannot be removed even by support staff! The main question is: do you really want to be a cheater???

I want to play coop with my friend... this isn't a competitive multiplayer match. Can't I just play on non-VAC mode?

Yep Vac bans are an actual thing, its not worth losing your account for. When you can still play co-op without cheats and have fun........okay some people may not get caught straight away, however again is it worth it really?

Though if you play offline and single player you can do what you like basically.

You'll be fine to use mods and cheats in a co-op with your friend(s) as long as you have disabled connecting to VAC Enabled Servers.

This can be toggled in the games settings via the main menu: Options > Online > "VAC Secure Game".

Note that everyone needs to have it disabled to connect to others that also have it disabled.

Any gameplay modification counts as a cheat, even if it is not giving an advantage
