best gun against the night hunter

i like the barrel SMG but the mil rifle has a high rof and damage so its DPS must be higher.
so whats better against the hunter firearm wise.

Im not a big fan of meleeing the hunter because of the swing time on weapons plus as they are melee there is no range. at least with guns i can keep the hunter at distance by firing pot shots at him

Firearms are useless vs the night hunter, you will run out of ammo before the match ends and they don't do much damage in the first place.

Use a knife type weapon or one handed type (better reach but less dps) with bleed + toxic damage (filthy blade or toxic reaper) and you will kill him in a few seconds.

I personally use a knife for destroying the nests, highest dps of all three types. And a one hander for trash virals or night hunter.

I didn't try two handed weapons yet, might be good to kill the NH.

Two handed weapon needs a tackle and a quick slash to kill the hunter. Takes half a second.

One handed weapon like a machete needs a tackle and two slashes to kill the hunter takes half a second as well.

I guess you mean dropkick and not tackle? as tackle is the hunter's counterpart

Why would you dropkick unless it was into spikes? Its way more efficient to tackle and swing then to dropkick the hunter into nothing

1 to 2 shots in the mouth will kill any night hunter on hard mode at least. you can shoot them forever otherwise and they wont die till you hit their mouth.
