Why does it say this game is published by Techland...
When it's published by Warner? I guess Techland felt too embarrassed to mention that fact (after their dismal Batman and Mortal Kombat X PC efforts). Or perhaps Warner knew that their unpopularity on the PC preceded them, and decided to disassociate their name. Either way, it's hilarious.

Neither of the games you mentioned have anything to do with Techland.

Batman is from Rocksteady Studios, and Mortal Combat is from NetherRealm Studios..
Again, neither of them have anything to do with Techland.

Techland made Call of Juarez and Dead Island Riptide..

Warner Bros is the publisher of the games, not the developer.

Read his post again. He clearly states that WB is the publisher in his very first sentence. He never once discuses or even brings up the subject of who developed the game. You did.

He's pointing out that Techland list themselves as "Publisher" even though it's really Warner Brothers. http://www.warnerbros.com/videogame/dying-light

As for OP, given Warner bros' recent track record, wouldn't you also try to hide the fact that they are your publisher?

Well this game would be a considered a gem among some of their recent releases, like Arkham Knight, so I'd imagine they've very much like to have a win in their pocket and say "Yeah, we published Dying Light, thank you for asking".

♥♥♥♥ like this isn't so personal the way you just put it. The developers can't ♥♥♥♥♥♥' try and pretend their publisher isn't Warner Bros. That's not the way that works. It's probably just a mistake on the Steam page, if that's where this issue is coming from.

This. It's hardly a point that anyone would even consider "Controversial", but it is.... Interesting.

Mortal Kombat X - Published by Warner Brothers, shown on steam page as Warner Brothers.
Arkham Knight - Published by Warner Brothers, shown on steam page as Warner Brothers.
Dyling Light - Published by Warner Brothers, shown on steam page as Techland.

Anyway, I'm off to try and get this damned game working properly.

Sometimes publishers do not publish some "editions". Brutal Legend is published by the game's devs in steam (PC) not EA (example)

Actually WB is only the distibuter of the game, not the publisher. This is because Techland does not actually have the capability to distribute their own game internationally, therefor they got WB to do it for them

Techland has recently stated they will be self-publishing all of their games independently in the future. They may have changed DL info to fit that criteria.

Thanks bro I understand where you're coming from but when I stated "(after their dismal Batman and Mortal Kombat X PC efforts)", it could easily have been interpreted differently. The error was entirely my own :P

For everyone else I'm not starting a flame war, but only interested in the details. Cheers.
