I don't see why that should matter, as she didn't appear to be part of the following. Then again, I've only played the ending one way so far, but I've read the results for Kyle is the same, so.
Well, if he does turn, he's sentient and could learn to control it. It'd be so cool in the second game to play as a Hunter by night, human by day.
I've posted this idea a few days ago:
Another idea I've come up with would be meant to balance daytime for higher level players(brand new and deadlier special infected) and also boost Kyle's control over the beast at night time.
I suggest another tree in addition to the Survivor, Power, Agility, Night Hunter, Legend and Driver trees. It'd be called 'Bond'. No, not James Bond. Kyle would unlock this tree after he tries to hurt someone he loves and holds back and runs off to Dr. Camden before night, where Camden reveals to Kyle he has the potential to control the Night Hunter he's turned into to a level none other can. That'd be a nice way to deliver the narrative. This tree would contain unlockable skills that will help us control our Night Hunter form and as we level up, even use some of the Night Hunter's abilities at daytime and eventually unlock a skill that allows us to shift forms at will, allowing us to use any of its abilities while Kyle retains his personality and control. Could be similar to Hulk's evolution from a mindless but powerful brute to a just as powerful but intelligent brute. Of course, the first skill you'll start out with will only allow you to automatically shift forms at the corresponding time of day - Hunter by night, runner by day kinda dynamique. Additionally, you'll have zero control over the beast at night time - it will often pounce and kill survivors on its own if you look at them with you not being able to do anything to stop it until you receive a suppressant developed by Dr. Camden and gradually learn how to control the Night Hunter by unlocking skills in the 'Bond' tree. This would also open the doorway to a ton of awesome new challenges and such.
*This would only apply to the ending where Kyle turns into a sentient Night Hunter.
Damn man I would love to see that come into action if they ever make Dying Light 2. It sounds really well thought out and a very cool continuation to the Following DLC. It's really quite a cliff hanger and kinda very odd playing normaly again after knowing you turned.
Do you have your idea posted somewhere better than here where it can get upvotes, where upvotes give it a better chance of being seen by the developers? I'd upvote that in a heartbeat.
Or maybe that could be another game mechanic to like find a safe house to lock yourself in during the night (so you don't kill anyone) , or go all crazy volatile vs volatile. THAT would be badass.
