I don't think this is the event you're thinking of though, because AFAIK it starts at the south end of all the checkpoints. There's one to the NW on some railroad tracks, one to the NE on the other side of a lake, and one pretty much straight north on a dirt road.
The main reason I made the post though, was the timer doesn't seem to work the same as in regular races. There's always a LOT of time on the clock when I fail. Plus I read somewhere that some events require hitting zombies to extend your time, and I mainly wanted to know if that is true.
Anyways, I only had a mix of regular and level 2 and 3 parts, with grade 1 nitro, and now I have all level 5 parts and grade 2 nitro, after having to upgrade for the hill climb races. I'd prefer knowing how the event works before wasting more parts via trial and error wear and tear though.
The only buggy challenge I have left now is the Horizon Challenge with just one checkpoint. The only problem is. you start on the other side of the map from it. Thus you need to pick a fairly direct route, that has lots of zombies. I've come close though, so I know I can get it.
BTW, I was slightly wrong on that 3 checkpoint one. Turns out the one on the railroad tracks IS slightly S and mostly west of the starting point. My route worked fine though. I went RR first, then just did a clockwise sweep with the one on the road then the one by the lake last.
