Thrill of the chase- only one person gets to loot weapon??

Playing co-op with a friend and only one of us can loot the revolver. Do we need to finish the quest chain first to get another for both of us?

Then there's either a bug that made him lose his chance, or he didn't notice, coulda sold it accidentally, etc. There is no mention that the other players get it, it just appears there.

Maybe he needs to check in his Stash, where you change outfits too? I couldn't find any of the weapons I picked up during this quest in my inventory, recently went to change outfits and accidentally discovered them waiting there. Strange.

probably just going to alternate between who picks up in case it happens again for the rest of the quest
