Unlimited Repairs
Limited repairs is a "feature" that is restrictive, stupid and unnecessary. When I see a field full of zombies I want to lay into them with my best weapon but I can't right now because I know that the weapon I will use will have a single repair left on it by the end and it's really draining the fun for me.I've heard that you can get the weapon refurbished by doing an escort mission but that is not a solution to me since I hate escort missions with a burning passion. Is there a way to circumvent this pointless feature?

A mod, but you risk VAC Ban ...
best collect all used up weapons in your storage and do that escort mission with all of them in your inventory
... but without that repair, all that crafting would have been sensless !

No, and the escort mission is fine.
I like the fact that weapons eventually break down and need to be replaced. You know what i do when i want to hack away at a massive number of zeds, i use a weapon thats not out of my badass pile and if i do use one of those its no big deal because i can throw it in the stash all broken till im ready to do the escort mission and then get them all repaired at the same time (you know he will repair as many broken weapons as you give him, not just one).

This is true, but you can still play offline and LAN, but I don't know if that strikes your fancy.

Why would I be banned for using a mod that doesn't give me a damage advantage over other players but simply removes a design flaw from the game? Seems backwards to me.

Tolga and Fatim has a side quest in The Following that gives you GPS tracking and a hacking device to open the crates they dropped from their plane.

One of these crates contains blueprint for a sword that does not need to be repaired.

Don't remember the name of the blueprint or the location, cause the weapon couldn't be used in nightmare mode, but checked it out in hard just to find out what it was.

This is interesting, does anyone know if that weapon is actually good stat-wise (if modded of course)? If I can't get a mod to work without getting banned I'll just use this weapon all the time, escort missions in any game are about as fun as AIDS.

there is really no risk of a vac ban all you have to do is go into your online options disable vac and your good to go mods are a great option as allways and there is such a mod on dying light nexus afaik

infact with VAC off you could even use something like cheat engine to do what ever you want but if you want VAC forget all about mods and such its just a bad idea

Yeah, after a few zombie deaths, your crowbar breaks.... It's a freakin crowbar for heavens' sake. lol. Do people realize how hard it actually is to break or damage a crowbar. Let alone by hitting only flesh and bone..... Some weapons should not break that easy if at all.

Do you mean the twilight phantom? if so that weapon does break (has no repairs) but if you check the status screen you can see its durability

Oh. Hm. Looked like it was unbreakable. Well that was sucky, cause it can't be used in nightmare mode, so what's the big deal with it? What's so special that I can't use it in nightmare?

Its not just that weapon that you cant use in nightmare its the developer weapons you cant use such as the expcalibur or the oragami 101 blueprints

But there's nothing awesome about the blueprint?

Not that I know of, the blueprint isnt really that great but the sword itself looks pretty cool (and will occasionally glow ^^)

This is why I prefer Dead Islands repair system. Your weapons can be repaired at the cost of money. The better the weapon example Legendary Deathstalker Wakasashi the more money it costs to repair at a workbench which makes money more useful.

This makes way more sense than limited repairs. To me a legendary with limited repairs is just a piece of trash.
