Replay value?
I was thinking about buying this game but I am not sure how much replay value there is.

So my assumption from what I have seen so far is:

You finish the story. You 100% the game and then you are done with this game.

Is that right or is there more to it?

There's custom community maps and the DLC is pretty good. but yeah once you 100% the game it kind of dies. It's quite a long game though and my first playthorugh took about 60 hrs.

Well actually, in what (single player only) games that you have completed 100% can you do more stuff after reaching 100%? I am seriously curious. After finishing the story you can still roam around the environments and dynamic events still happen.

Even if not: I had more than 50 hours of fun with this game and I am far from done with it yet, why would replay value mather?

EDIT: 97 hours ATM, also not counting the almost 20 hours I put into the ..demo version (ghehe) of the game.

And what is said above: Steam Workshop.

Non-MMO's only have a finite amount of non-repeating content.

You can continue to play after the game ends (at least for the main campaign. I can't confirm that for The Following, but it seems like a safe assumption), and from the menu you can select any main quest to restart from that point and keep playing (I don't know if that also re-opens up sidequests).

It all really depends on how much you enjoy the base game and how long the gameplay can hold your interest. It's a sandbox with zombies, melee, unarmed moves, guns, bows, throwing weapons, grenades, traps, challenges, a grappling hook, and in the expansion, driving. There's lots of stuff to keep you occupied if you want.

Try the demo on Steam. If you really like the gameplay, then you might like playing the full game. But how long is only something you can decide.

Replay is overrated. I want replay value in short games that are sub 15 hours. Anything over and I really have little intention of replaying unless it is a game like skyrim or fallout but even then, you could spend literally hundreds of hours without replaying.

In Dying Light, after 100% both story and completion, youve done all quests and side quests. So one thing you can do is collect the secret blueprints scattered around each map (theres plenty). You can also find hidden easter eggs (also quite a few of these). You can collect stronger or more unique looking weapons, or even just play Be The Zombie (i wouldnt). Other than that, you can go looking for people to help out with the story, or even just play with new people for kicks. Its all up to you, you can do all those things, or drop the game and play something else! :thumb::ArmdZombie:
