Do I Get The Following for Free?

I'm still confused about this. If I own the original Dying Light, do I get all of The Following content for free? Or is there a fee? If I go to Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition game page, it says I already own it.

You have to own Dying Light Enchanced Edition or Season pass , you can`t get it for free

If you buy Dying Light: The Following Enhanced Edition, you will get the following. If you bought the game before that you will either have to buy the season pass or the dlc itself

Or you can buy enchanced edition like me( I`ve bought original game month before The Following release) it will "upgrade" your game to enchanced ed. with all DLC`s :)

I got gifted the game a few months ago by a friend. I think it's just the regular edition, but like I said, when I go to the Enhanced Edition page, it says I already own it. Hmmm, I think I may have to spend the 20 bucks on The Following to get it.

you do know that the normal dying light got everything that the enchanced edition has in a update? So you just lost a lot of money in buying the enchanced edition...

Better buy the Enchanced Edition. For me it was really a slight differrence
The Following in Poland cost`s something about 17 Euro while the Enchanced Edition soemething about 20 Euro and it contains all the DLC .

so even though it currently says on the store page that "dying light the following-enhanced edition is in your library"... i don't have it?

Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition is just the silly title they chose to use.

For whatever reason, the original, base version of the game has been retired from Steam's store. Since the base version you own can no longer be bought on Steam, it just automatically says that you own the new version since there isn't any other. It's needlessly confusing.

Everyone who had the base game gets the Enhancements as a free update. The Following is an expansion that is included with the Season Pass or can be purchased separately.

Thank you, your post finally made me understand what exactly is going on. I guess I'll wait until The Following is on sale for like 10 bucks and grab it.

No, the patch and the enhancements are free if you own Dying Light. Just the new content in The Following expansion pack costs money. Am I right?
