Can I Drive the Dune Buggy in 3rd Person?
I love Dying Light and I've been considering grabbing The Following DLC, or maybe even the Season Pass but I want to know if driving is strictly done in first person. Or can I switch to a third person view. I've seen a few pics of the Dune Buggy but everyone seems to be shown in the First Person. This is pretty much a deal breaker for me because I absolutely hate driving in FPS games because driving in First Person is a total pain in the a**; especially with mouse and keyboard controls. In Far Cry 3 I ended up running everywhere simply to avoid driving. So can I switch to 3rd person while driving or am I going to have to give The Following a pass?

Thanks. Guess I'll pass then. I don't understand why they can't do 3rd person while driving. It's not like there's no "full body" modeling since the game can be played co-op. And Borderlands showed that you could do driving in 3rd person while maintaining 1st person throughout most of the game. Oh well, saved myself 20 bucks I suppose.

I originally passed on the SP for Dying Light for the same reason I passed on the SP for a few other games: until The Following was announced the DLC was just some challenge maps and outfits/weapons. I don't really do challenge maps and I think outfits in an FPS is sort of pointless unless they give the player some sort of bonus. I tend to pick up season passes when they offer all, or mostly, additional quest content or new areas to explore. Like the DLC for Fallout 3 and Skyrim. But I got nothing against people who like challenge maps or new outfits; especially if they play a lot of co-op. I've been known to drop a few bucks on skins for Borderlands 2 because I play a lot with friends.

Well the season pass used to cost 20 USD, the same that the Following right now, so it WAS worth it :P.

You get new weapons: shotguns, smgs, crossbow
new map bigger than the original ones combined.
new sidequests: clear the volatiles hives , they're like caves like The Forest.
New story, with new sidequests too..
Harder zombies..

i would have to agree, the driving is abyssamal to say the least, with every little tree n rock stopping you dead in your tracks, that i found myself using the grapple for fast travel instead of the buggy

A tpv would have been really usefull here

I concur
Can’t believe we are troubled by the same thing at this game’s 6th years anniversary

Can't be such a big problem if we need to necro a 5 year old thread.

It would be really good to drive in third person, i'm not a huge fan of driving in first person

Is this some necromancer inside joke on steam or from Everquest necromancy players ?
What’s the deal with replying necro necro when people replying to a thread ?

Isn’t it better and more streamlined if players just respond and ask in the relevant thread ?

necro on steam means you are taking a post that is old and dead and reviving it. usually better to make a new thread than revive one thats been dead for months/years etc.

to answer OP no there isnt an official way to 3rd person the buggy but there is a mod for it on nexus if you really want to do it

and to those saying the driving is bad. that sounds like a skill issue. get gud at driving and you wouldnt crash so much ;p

and yes i realize this post is from 2016 but sometimes. you gotta do it for the memes
