The Following: Volatile Nests
How to destroy Volatile Nests on Following? Almost on the beginning you get a map with Volatile nests to destroy. There was also warning that it's not suggested to go on day there because Volatiles are camping there. But now i managed to get there on night but tried to destroy it without luck.

Don't go at day unless you want to fight 15+ volatiles in a confined area. In nightmare that's suicide

Good is that out of camo you can kill a nighthunter with about 3 strikes of a weapon .i found this not possible as i tried that in harran.

Generally the normal volatiles in a hive don't care what you do if you are camo'd but the problem is there are so many of them and the caves are so narrow sometimes that they will walk into you, and get randomly aggro'd. Basically they are pretty unpredictable. Often it will seem like they are chasing you and you can just run away down the cave and then when they see you again it's like they can't see you, even though they are looking for you. Often they will aggro for no apparent reason as you just move around in camo, and other times they will be staring right at you as you kill a floorstuck volatile and they don't react at all.

The game warns you that it would be better to do it at night because the volatiles are out on patrol, but I tried going at night and there were still plenty of volatiles in the hives.

There are no volatiles in the nests on any difficulty at night. You have either caught some weird bug or went there close to nightfall, but not actually at night.

Meanwhile i managed to clear out several nests using those hints the buggy addon with blacklight Zone does help tremendously if your just parkin your buggy outside a cave to break in at night . Yeah all i had to watch was the runners that swarm the cave but thats easy to manage even if your using a pumpaction to clear out the rest as its seems not to pull others as backup from the outside at all so its not bad if you make a Hell of Noise inside once you finsihed the big Mob that resides there. just in tights spots you can get clobbered to death if your to unlucky.

Wait until you get Camo II, and go in at night. Get to the entrance of the hive at about 20:00, and go in just until you see the first zombies through walls with Survivor Sense.

Look for where the queens are nesting to plan your route. As soon as 21:00 starts and the Volatiles leave, go kill the first zombie or group of zombies, then camo yourself.

Head toward the nearest queen using sense, and recamo every 30 seconds or so. Just keep repeating until the hive is clear. I destroyed all hives without using any UV Flares this way.

Save your UV Flares for surviving nights in the open, you get more points that way and level up faster.
