Bring a really powerful shotgun and powerful melee weapons and you can clear volatile nests really easy. I got a gold hunting shotgun from a vendor that did 2500 damage, and could kill volatiles in one or two headshots. You can use legendary ranks to increase gun damage by 50% or more which is really useful and basically breaks the game because volatiles, demolishers, and giant demolishers, which are incredibly hard to deal with using melee weapons, all die in just a few uber shotgun headshots.

In a volatile nest basically just camo ASAP (many nests have ferals or spitters which are good for camo), look for a floorstuck volatile, kill it with a melee weapon, use its body to refresh your camo, then move on to the next floorstuck volatile. They will show up on your mini-map as an arrow without a cone of sight, unlike the regular volatiles which have cones of sight.

Now and then a regular volatile will flip out and attack you for no apparent reason. Whip out your shotgun or melee weapon and kill it fast and re-camo, then keep moving on looking for the next floor volatile. Once the floor volatiles are all dead you'll get a notice about getting a bunch of survivor points. The normal volatiles will stop spawning and you can clear them out if you want.

I've only ever found one nest that had a bomb, it was one in a tunnel with an exit at both ends. I've done all the other nests and never found a bomb in the others.

I'm not totally sure but I think if you kill a volatile outside at night, another volatile will come looking for you. Keep killing them as they come looking for you, and eventually a black/blue volatile will come, they are a bit bigger and look like they have blue/black armor on their shoulders. They die really easily to headshots from my 3500 damage shotgun too.

You do realize saying "they appear as a white arrow with no vision cone" is too generic right? Virals have the same thing on the map. To find breeding volatile you need to use your survivor sense and among the highlighted enemies you'll notice one that's kneeling on the floor. That's the volatile you need to kill.

So...You have to kill every monster in the cave? Not just the volatiles "glitched" in the floor? because I tried to kill every monster (killing from behind with the elimination) but the timer run out fast. I tried a second time and only kill the volatiles of the floor but nothing happens (Perhaps I forgot one, maybe...I don't know)
