Report a translation problem
Yeah, it looks exactly the same if you don't have the DLC as far as I can tell. That awful film grain effect that ruins the visuals had been turned back on but otherwise looks identical. As I thought it would.
I honestly can't tell any difference at all, but then again I don't have a lot of time in the game just yet. Yep, turning that crap off was the first thing I did when I played for the first time, I dunno why a lot of games have that option these days - looks like I'm playing it off a VHS tape.

I restarted my Steam client, and still dont see that any patch installed.

You have the Enhanced Edition. And if it hasn't installed, verify the integrity of your game cache/restart steam.
I'll fire it up later and check it all out, seems like a good game so far, I found most of the time you can just completely ignore most of the zombies so hopefully they are a bit more realistic (even though they don't actually exist).
