There is no Dying Light 1, there is only Dying Light.

try to join a save and then invite him

i'm currently trying to play with a friend using the epic version and from his side it says that he has to be logged in on steam or he can't host his campaign. From my perspective i can invite him after log in my epic games account but he just can't accept the invitation, even though he already finished prologue (have the "online options" but as i said, he can't make his lobby joinable and just get stuck on "LAN" or "solo" campaign)..

yeah, they need to adjust the Co-Op mode via more platforms, I mean it isn't a big problem because the Techland guys still update Dying Light up to this date.
