[FIX] Epic Games and Steam Crossplay
Hey folks in the DL Community!
Figured I'd make a discussion post about Crossplay since there is the big influx of new players to the game with the free Epic Games giveaway recently, and the most help I found online myself was 'Make sure your game is set to anything but Singleplayer' lol

I ran into an issue earlier where my friend recently got Dying Light for free on Epic Games, I already owned it through Steam, and we had some difficulty troubleshooting how to cross-play. It is possible to cross-play however, requires some finagling...
Here is how I solved it.

Step One:
Make sure you and your friend are actually added as friends on BOTH Steam and Epic Games for BOTH parties. (this was the key crux piece my friend and I were missing and why it took us so long to actually join the others' game session)

Step Two:
I know the tutorial for this game is sorta long compared to others, but make sure both you and your friend have completed the 'First Assignment' Mission and receive a prompt that Multiplayer is available to use.

If you do not know your current quest the default binding is 'L'. Multiplayer becomes active after you fix the power grid and find a safe place to sleep through the night. When you wake up in the morning, and Spike gives you a call over the radio,

Step Three:
Make sure your lobby is not in Singleplayer and available for Human Co-Ops to join
> On PC, hit Esc to bring you to the Pause Menu
> In the bottom left you should see a prompt that says " 'C' Session Options"
> Press 'C' and make sure both you and your friend have Allow Human Co-Ops set to 'On'.
> Also while you are here double check your Game Visibility is set to 'Friends Only'

Step Four:
BOTH you and your friend need to connect your other accounts. The player using Steam needs to connect/log in through their Epic Games Account, and the Epic Games user needs to connect to their Steam Account.

// I do not know if this is true for all of Epic Games' Dying Light users, but my friend was unable to see me appear in their Friends List in their Pause Menu immediately. It was only after I also connected my account to Epic Games, did I show up for them. Whereas on my end I could immediately see my friends I had through Steam, saw their Steam profile, and thought everything was fine and dandy and I could simply just invite them.. buttt I could not. //

This is my first discussion post so hopefully it helps others :] I know I could have used it a few hours ago lol

And it works too!
Thanks for this, much appreciated!

I think only player who plays on steam must be linked with epic games account. And you join his epic account game and not steam (that you could see from beginning) but that's obvious XD

So I think part of this guide is containing unnecessary stuff aka friend playing on epic having to do anything with his steam.

When I had my Steam Account linked with my Epic Games one, neither I nor my friend were able to see the other/invite them to our game sessions in the Friends List.
If it worked otherwise for you, hey, awesome! Redundancy worked for me though lol
