Vac ban offline?
Hi guys I would like to play again the game after some time but I would like to do a modded run (offline of course) but I'm afraid to be vac banned... I have seen that there is an option to play without vac security but I have read about people being banned anyway :( any tips?

VAC does not run offline, ever, from how I know it works in other games. VAC isn't installed on your PC, VAC is streamed/running server-side.

VAC also shouldn't care about save files, but if you want to be extra sure, just back up your current save and then have a separate save for your modded playthrough, with whatever balance/etc mod you want to play with. Even playing online with mods should be possible, given you turn VAC off in the "online" options and you don't mess with it mid-game, which for some reason is possible. I wouldn't advise playing modded online, outside of private matches. Most people play in VAC secured lobbies only, but some may join insecure sessions as well. People may dislike it if they join your game and find out that some things have been rebalanced, so keep your session private/friends-only. So yeah, if you want to do a coop run with friends, modded run that is, turn off VAC, exit your game and then install the mods you want to use. Once you're done with your modded run, uninstall the mods by verifying your game's files in the library, then you can turn VAC back on.

And again, if you don't care about coop with friends or want to be extra sure, stay offline on Steam and DL. Just block the game via your firewall or unplug your ethernet. Once you're done with your playthrough, Steam library > Dying Light > right click > properties > local files > verify files. Verifying the files will get rid of the modded pak files. You can also look up where DL stores it saves to delete that stuff too. Deleting your keybind/video config files is not necessary.

Thank you for the answer, I hope as you said that playing in single player (with vac off of course) will not cause any problem because as I read there is not a real "offline mode". Single player is vac secured too but I will try to play without internet

honestly I think you are vac banned if you are reported by someone who didn't like you using cheat in his match, the vac in dying light is almost an "embellishment" and mods/trainers should only be used in singleplayer or coop (in pvp no) the game itself when it detects mods it disables the VAC.
