Low fps high end pc [SOLVED]
I got a gtx1070, an i7 4790 and 16gb ddr3 ram. My fps keeps dropping from 60 to below 30 intermittently even after lowering the graphics settings. A friend I'm playing with has a 1060 and an i5, he's at a constant 60fps at least with all settings maxed. I'm not a computer buff, so I just don't get it. Could it be cpu bottlenecking?

I'm not that tech savvy eather, but I think that it's not your CPU's fault, but I'm not sure. Does this happen on any other games? When you launch the game, does the fps immediately drop when continuing your saved game?

try disabling geforce experience
turn down view distance to half or a bit lower
turn off any nvidia settings and motion blur

other games work fine, and i dont think it's due to cpu overheating because the lag starts as soon as i load.

edit. nvm it works fine now, I just deactivated vsinc from the nvidia control panel.

Not your CPU, no. I'm running an MSi GTX 1080 8GB on an i7-4770 and it works perfectly well.
Yeah Vsync seemsto cause these issues for some reason.

hey guys,
little late, but here's what helped me get constant +100 fps:
btw i got a gtx 1660ti and a i7 9th gen but i had like 8-30 fps in Dying Light which was rediciulous

how i fixed it:
1. CTRL ALT DEL task mgr
2. go to details
3. right click on "DyingLightGame.exe" and set Priority to "High" or "Higher than usual"
4. Change Game Settings to -> Windowed Full Screen mode
5. check your fps, i got 120 fps after priority settings

before you play, check every 1-2 minutes in your task manager if the priority settings is still on High, because sometimes it changes back to "normal"

you can also do this with steam, nvidia gforce experience, etc ...

hope it works for yall aswell

Yup, making the game high priority is the best thing to do, went from like 20/30 fps to 60/70
the vsync will sometimes knock it down to 30 fps if you're gonna fall too far intot he 40s I remember from when I played this.

Personally i use system explorer. Its a free software that is a mix between functions of task manager and Resource monitor except you can permanantly set affinity and priority. Sometimes doing this makes performance worse (Game to game basis).

When I set the priority to 'high' in task manager, it will be great for like 5 minutes and then task manager will just set it back to normal. How do I avoid this?

I made a video back in May, still works today. It's not ideal but does the job & done the halloween event for hours with no issues. Steady 60fps with the Best Quality preset.

Did you find a fix for this? Im also facing the same issue. Not even 5 mins later, it switches back almost instantly
