That Damn Lighthouse
Playing The Following DLC, and going through "The Thrill of the Chase" questline. So don't read unless you want it kinda spoiled.

So after running around the damn house for 20 minutes trying to find clues, I finally found all of them. I did not realize you could use survivor sense to search for them because, honestly, that rarely works. In most quests, survivor sense does nothing. It is unreliable, and when I found that it worked, I just audibly sighed.

So I start by going to the lighthouse. Jumping around the damn cliffs for another 20-25 minutes, trying to find the hidden entrance. I got dizzy, honestly, seeing nothing but rocks. Just... your entire field of vision covered by rocks. Rocks, rocks, rocks.

Finally, I found the entrance. I went inside. I got the damn gun, which was worse than literally everything I had in my inventory. So I figure "this can't possibly be it". I can't waste this much time just finding this stupid gun. There's got to be something else. And the cave continues. It goes on, further in. "Yes!" I think. "In there, the REAL prize awaits!".

So I go inside. I find this huge underground lake, with lots of nooks and crannies. I try to find a path forward. I find little hints at something, like places where the lake dips further down, or small passenges to the side that suddenly stops.

But here's the kicker. The extra space, the underground lake... it lead absolutely nowhere. I ran around there for more than half an hour, seeing nothing but rocks, water, and blurry vision. This is the first time the game made me motion sick, and I had to stop playing.

This was the worst questline ever. If there was nothing further in the cave - BLOCK IT OFF. And for God's sake, can we get some damn payoff for completing quests? I'm at the point where doing quests feels like nothing but a chore. I have yet to experience a satisfying payoff for a quest.

Just had to vent. I really want to like this game, but come on, what's with all these damn caves? Every damn quest feels like exploring caves or swimming around in underwater segments.

So which is the absolute worst questline, in your opinion, and why? I'm putting my money on "The Thrill of the Chase", but maybe the worst is yet to come.

Before I get to your "worst questline?" question, I have a few things to say. I really like that they added a lot of other dimensions to the game via caves, tunnels, treacherous climbs, etc. I also didn't find caves difficult to navigate.

In side quests that involve a LONG swim out of a cave, you're usually given an easy route to follow along a diver's safety line. Also, literally ALL the guns in that questline are contained in the same type case, so it's not hard to figure when you've found the quest item. Besides that, the objective when complete always shows onscreen via text.

As for worst questline, I'd say the "Psycho" side quest, that ends with having to break X amount of zombie legs in a short time. A lot of the side quests are getting buggier with each patch too, with NPCs or zombies falling through the ground and such.
