And anyway, you get two skilll points which make it faster.
One triples your climbing speed, the other gives you a grappling hook.
Climbing gets faster, and your running stamina better, with higher skill levels, yes.
How ever getting "stuck" on things, and clipping through things have never been and issue for me. And falling off stuff - well, isn't that your fault?
You'll eventually get Agility - Freerunning Expert and things will be even better.
Max level in Agility you get Ultimate Runner - you don't get tired from running/climbing/jumping.
It does improve. The hardest part I had to deal with was playing through most of the game on Hard and then we started all over on Nightmare. Going from running fast, climbing fast and using the grappling hook to starting fresh was a very hard transition. Keep at it, it'll improve.
