Health Regen Perk not working?

Am I missing something here? I got the health regen perk but even after a couple of hours of varied gameplay, my health never regenerated once. Is there some sort of ludicrous special condition I need to meet that went right over my head?

well, with my max health level being 200 currently, I can only regen about to 45-50 when I fall below that number, to that point, unfortunately not a constant regeneration kinda of like Sam B's in Dead Island, which was like 8% a minute or something

I think it can only regenerate up to a certain amount dependant on the game difficulty setting.

It only regens you to a certain health if you go below that health.

Ahhh ok. I got down as low as 35 and it didn't regen, so I used a medkit.

Hi, Dannicus, in Dying Light, after updated to Enhanced Edition, with the Legend Skill Tree, yes, there is a health regen. But contrary to what you think, this doesn't mean that your health will regenerate from whatever level to max. This health regen governs the speed of health regen when you use a medkit. If you are not max out in Legend, when you use a medkit, the health bar will recover very slowly. And when you are max out, your health bar will recover to max in just over one second, maybe two. Oh, I am speaking about nightmare mode. I am not sure about normal mode. I haven't played normal since the update to Enhanced Edition. Other may be able to confirm this or correct me if I am wrong.
