How do I download The Following DLC?

I already owned Dying Light but today I purchased The Following DLC for $9.99. It is not giving me the option to download it. I did do the update to the Enhanced Edition awhile back so is The Following already pre installed? How do you tell if it is installed?

If it's installed, when starting a new game you have an option to play The Following

i have dying light and a friend bought me the following but i do not know how to download the following, i dont have an option or something to actually download it and when i start up dying light the following doesnt come up as an option, please help this is gettiing on my nerve

be sure the game is set to auto update
check your dlc list to see if its installed or not
verify game files
restart steam
