Dying Light

I have almost all the DLC, but I can't upgrade for free? Just because I'm an enhanced player?
I purchased "Dying Light Enhanced Edition" two years ago, and since then I have purchased the rest of the DLC.
Although I didn't buy the "Platinum Edition", I actually purchased all the associated DLC for the Platinum Edition in its entirety.
Compared to the entire contents of "Definitive Edition", now I'm only short of "Dying Light - Dieselpunk Bundle".
Will Techland give me a free "Definitive Edition" upgrade? It is equivalent to giving me the "Dieselpunk Bundle".
Platinum Edition players can upgrade to the Definitive Edition for free and get the full game content, do I spend more money but can only buy the "Dying Light - Dieselpunk Bundle" for myself?

Enhanced edition owners are the ones getting screwed with this final update, me included.

Good for you, 4.99 and you get it all even if you own nothing, it's a f'ing 5er.

It sucks. I'm also an 'enhanced player', bought every single DLC includes Dieselpunk Bundle.
What can I get? I can't even complain.
Techland treated 'enhanced player' like trash.

I've been reluctant to buy the DL2 because of Techland's "Platinum release, original price reduction". I won't consider buying it until DL2 releases the "Definitive Edition" in a few years.

Yeah there needs to be some dev response to this, or just gift the Definitive Edition for people who have (for example)Enhanced Edition and Season Pass. I have 31 DLCs myself, just counted.

Whining about buying dying light 2, to be fair mate that just shows you're commitment level, i would of and did buy it just because it's them, if you did not you are not a follower and dont deserve the extras end of.

It's not about followers, I just hate being treated differently by Techland.

I don't have a shortage of games to play right now and don't have a thirst for DL2, so I'd rather wait for the Definitive Edition of DL2. I actually pre-ordered the DL2 until the release of 2077.

I got Platinum for 2 years now and don't see any "free upgrade" for myself to make

I agree, this sucks, but isn't it exactly how it always works with all games though? There's no point in complaining here, because they aren't the only one doing this and honestly, I don't think complaining anywhere would really help actually.

Also, how much different is the Definitive game itself compared to the Enhanced, Platinum, whatever anyway? I don't think that there's any difference in terms of quality. I mean, when other devs release Definitive Editions, it usually means they are remasters of the original with improvements in terms of audio and visual quality, and the complete set of DLCs already included in the game if applicable, but in this case I don't think there's any difference in quality. Yeah, maybe you would get one extra DLC that you're missing, but is that DLC really something you would like to play with? If it doesn't interest you at all, you're practically all set as is. If you're like 1 DLC short and you actually are interested in that one extra DLC, just buy the missing DLC on sale and you're all done. Personally I couldn't care less what title of the game says as long as the content itself matches what I wanted, what I paid for.

I have everything from the original edition every dlc and i still didn't rate the update.. oof.

I have bought the Platinum Edition many months ago and got the remaining paid DLCs for free due to the Definitive Edition upgrade. However, I'm not able to upgrade in the Dying Light Definitive DLC Collection: which is the Chivalry Weapon Pack.

you just answered your own question you didnt by the platinum edition theres why u didnt get the free upgrade and it clearly states in the info owners of platinum edition will be upgraded bying the dlcs 1 by 1 does not count twards this as plat you just simply got the dlcs u didnt by the pack

Just a thought, but from reading the News about these updates, I am NOT SURE there is any difference BETWEEN THE DEFINITIVE and having the DL PLATINUM AND ALL THE DLC.

And that is about how the pattern has been with most Techland Games.

Same also with Dishonored and most Arkane Studios made games.

In other words, since there is a patch to the DL 1 Game right now to be downloaded. And since the Platinum version is the Enhanced with all the DLC (whether or not you got Platinum Edition or not), it is possible even likely that with that UPDATE/Patch plus all the DLC, you may actually have the Definitive.

I am not aware, but I may be uninformed or wrong, of any actual claim or better graphics. Consider that.

In the past for DL, you could always via buying all the DLC basically create the game in pieces into the actual named Edition. (There was an exception once way back, when the Old Enhanced Edition didn't include The Following, and then it did later on, but that was truly their fault for using the same name for two different editions.)

Long story short man, the definitive is just the game with all content ( DLC's ), nothing else and the platinum gets that upgrade, that is all it is.
Skinker Jun 11, 2022 @ 6:49am
Yeah there is nothing added to the definitive edition. A lot of people are confusing themselves. If you already have all the DLC you already have everything.
