Grappling Hook not working

I checked the posts in past about this bug, none of the solutions suggested have worked for me thus far. I have dropped it and picked it up again. I have dropped it and gotten a new one from the quartermaster. I have only it equipped in the equipment slot. I have moved it in and out of the equipment slots from 1 - 4. The thing is, it doesn't show up on the screen where equipment should show up. For example I have used the throwing knives and so on, and they have appeared in the bottom left hand corner of the screen, but the grappling hook just doesn't show up there even when it is equipped as the only equipment. If any one has any ideas on what to do to solve this I am all ears.

its either bugged or hacked, discard and get new one from qmaster

Hold 1 and select it. I believe that's default equipment menu. Also select your weapon before using grappling hook.

If you do not have all 4 secondary slots filled ( hook, UV, firecrackers, knives, etc., ) an empty slot will show nothing onscreen.

Also, cycle fwd or back on your primary weapon once before trying the hook. This happens to me every time I transistion into or out of a quarentine zone and it sets things right in less than 2 seconds.

Switch primary, select hook, activate.

Had this problem for a while played without the use of it which sucked!.
found how to get it working! I reset controls to default not sure if that helped in any way but found that even though the Grappling hook was set to mmb middle mouse button it was the "Use Equipment" button that actually activates the grapple? weird not sure whats going on there but at least it now works.

Considering that's my only issue with this game which is now fixed with a slight alteration what else is broken?.For a zombie game this one ranks high in my list pretty high actually but every one to their own as they say :)

You use it with your bound 'Use Equipment' key.

It'll bug out sometimes due to safe zones I believe. I find switching weapons will normally fix it.

I did fix it in the end controls messed up!. cheers
