best way to kill zombies in nightmare mode?

So I'm legend 87, got maxed out everything, 25/25 in two hands and guns. I've got an orange scyth, angel mod, 3 kings, does like 4500 damage. Still won't kill a regular zombie in one hit to the face.

My guns, 1200 damage pistol, 1500 damage rifle, won't kill a regular zombie in one shot to the head. My shotgun does around 7k (like 6500 I think) half the time it will kill in one head shot and half the time it won't.

So my question is, if this is as strong as I can get, can you just not kill regular zombies in one hit on nightmare without using insta kill attacks like drop down and neck breaks? Does anything kill them in one hit? even the trap bombs now take three or four explosions to kill zombies which is kind of nuts. Is there some weapon I've not tried? (short of the golden weapons I'm not even sure you can really find them. Hundreds of police vans later I still haven't seen one.)

Crossbows and bows have proven to instakill on NG+ Nightmare , theyre probably your best bet.
Silent instakills with recyclable ammo is always nice.
Just keep in mind that you should upgrade them with legend levels cause that maxed out 10x's their damage.

You dont need max level you can simply unlock all of the important skills at around 100-150

Ah yes, Legend 250...a long way off for those of us doing things the hard way. I’m still only farming the Stuffed Turtle sparingly and still only turning them in on my original Hard mode (30K per package). Am I masochistic or what?

Camoflage is a great thing for killing zombies too. One neck snap and move to the next. If you go somewhere with hoards of zombies you can snap about 7 or 8, recamoflage and start over again until they are all gone.

Just dont run into them. If you hit them they will go agro.

Also this is best when you take the perk that increases the time that camoflage works.

If you are on Nightmare Game + 100% story, which is hardest difficulty. You'll need support from Legend skill-tree.

Bows skill affect crossbows too, at 25/25 you receive +1,000% damage to your bows and crossbows (Not 100% but 1,000%). Which easily makes these overpowered.

I can help you finish Bozak so you can get Bozak bow if you want. Firearms will be mostly useless on Nightmare mode, unless it's shotgun.

If you want to one hit zombies, you'll need full support from Legend skill-tree obviously, One-Handed 25/25, get orange or Gold-tier weapon, either from Premium or Bozak dockets, you can also play invasions and reach Underdog rank, but this'll be slow.

Kind of, but not really. Fantasy weapons are just Gold-tier which is one rarity above orange, Gold-tier has very slightly more damage (Not noticeable), significantly more durability, as well as extra repairs.

But fantasy weapons are limited, and some of it can't be repaired or crafted with best blueprints.

Fantasy weapons just have unique skins, statistically they are not better than normal Gold-tier weapons.

You get normal Gold-tier weapons from dockets, this is the only way of earning normal Gold-tier weapons. Fantasy weapons are either obtained from looting on Hard mode 1/1,000 chance, or Nightmare mode 1/100 chance, also being rank Underdog in invasions as human and achieving victory or defeat.

Dockets will only give you Gold-tier normal weapons, never fantasy weapons. Fantasy weapons are obtained by looting and invasions as I've mentioned above.

There's only two types of Gold-tier melee weapons, fantasy and normal.

Get the Bozak DLC and you can get Bozak Dockets (Gold Tier Weapons). This the best way to get Gold Weapons. You can play Bozak over and over and rack up lots of dockets.

With that said, the Gold aren't really much better than Orange and if you hit up the vendors you can buy lots of whatever weapons you want. Dockets are a crap shoot, but buying you will get only the orange weapons that you want. Money is not an issue late game anyway. Good luck.
