Dying Light Enhanced Edition upgrade
Hey,

So I bought Dying light last year and from what I read there's an Enhanced Edition right now of the game that includes some tweaks like new parkour moves.

Can I upgrade the base Dying Light (without the DLCs) to the Enhanced Edition for free?

Or do I need to buy the game again?

Thanks for any helpful answers

For first, about the tweaks, graphics upgrade, Legend skill-tree and Nightmare mode addition, these are all part of Enhanced Edition, free patch and everyone has it. You have it too as long as Steam doesn't ask to download any update, you have it.

For second, the Enhanced Edition in store is name of Dying Light + paid DLC, such as The Following, Bozak Horde and all season pass content, that's simply what makes Enhanced Edition.

If you own base game and want to catch up with Enhanced Edition the best you can do is either purchase season pass or The Following and Bozak Horde separately, depending on what you want and your preferences. Both The Following and Bozak Horde are top, must have and amazing DLC.

Oh OK thanks for the explanation, also does it say anywhere in the game if my game is patched with the Enhanced Edition? Like in the Main Menu or smthin?

No, but it is, no doubt about it. You can play with anyone in campaign (You wouldn't be able to without Enhanced Edition patch), you have Nightmare difficulty and Legend skill-tree, as well as Steam doesn't ask you to download update for Dying Light, this is all proof of having Enhanced Edition patch.

You just don't obtain paid DLC from Enhanced Edition (Steam store name, not name of Enhanced Edition patch) if you buy original game.

This should make it clear.

1. Enhanced Edition - gives you base game + paid DLC such as The Following, Bozak Horde and season pass content.
2. Base game - gives you only base game, no paid DLC.

Both 1. and 2. have graphics upgrade, Legend skill-tree, tweaks, etc etc. It's just that base game owners don't get paid DLC, that's all.

Right now I dont have the cash for the Season Pass and just want to play the base game / after that I'll play The Following DLC later (after I get it from a sale) since that's what I do for most games that have a story based expansion / DLC that's hours long.
