Zombie Invasion questions
Recently turned on and tried zombie invasion. I was destroyed twice, and that's fine. I expected as much being new to it.

However, I'm confused on a few points:
1. Do Invasion settings work? I have them set to Zombie Invasion at Night, and every 3 nights (default settings) but I got three invasions back to back, during the day.

2. Zombies seem to be able to reliably kill me even with just their claws. I've got the UV lamp on them, I have a flare down on the ground, and they still out DPS me. Shouldn't I have the advantage in this situation? What am I doing wrong?

3. How do *I* play as the zombie?

1. I don't know about this, maybe it's referring to the same player invading you every time? Though I have no idea how you got invaded during the day

2. Zombies shouldn't outdamage you with their claws, are you using a gun by any chance? Melee weapons, bows and crossbows do much more damage than guns. You can 2 shot a hunter with a heavy weapon if you're the only player. And one shot it with thrown weapons. UV only drains their energy and doesn't allow them to pounce you, but they can still tackle, ground pound and spit at you. You need to learn how to deal with those.

If a zombie really does outdamage you with just claws, they're probably cheating.

3. Press play game, and use Be the zombie. Be careful, you can get a lot of cheaters and it's not as easy as you think if you actually fight good players.

No was using a bat, modified with home-run. Sometimes I'd beat them down first, but a good amount of the time they did more damage to me. I'll try throwing knives though. I wonder if me playing on Nightmare has any effect on this.

Thank you for the info!

I think blades do more damage to the hunters than blunt weapons, not sure though. By throwing weapons, I meant with the throw weapon skill btw.

Damage, UV length and such also depend on the number of players. The less players the more damage.

There is no such a thing as doing more damage with same type of weapon. King mods or blueprints on weapon doesn't change anything. It depends on players count. 1v1 hunter will take 3 slices with one handed weapon or one swing with two handed and a tackle. 1v2 hunter will need to take 2 two handed weapon swings or 5 one handed weapon slices and ect. If you want my recommendation try to use unique weapons that give you some kind of advantages and do not be afraid to use exploits like two handed weapon swing animation cancelation. Personally I really like Premium Oriental Khopesh since it gives you more range than any other one handed weapon, always had two handed weapon and a crossbow with toxic bolts. For the forth weapon I was using either knife since you can shred nests with it or a pistol/rifle just to finish off low hunter. Some more tips would be try to use whirlwind skill with two handed weapon that doesn't have any blueprints or mods with animation cancel exploit - nests will be gone in a few hits. There are other tips and tricks like instead of having 25 legend points on health legend skill tree you can have 13 (not sure if it's 13, was quite a long time ago since I checked that one) to make yourself harder to kill or any other animation cancel exploit. Not to mention try to master quick flare throw since it can save your life most of the time by sprinting - looking back while running and pressing your binded key to throw a flare, after a spit GP most of the time you will be pounced since if you throw flare a normal way there will be not enough time for flare to land, but with flare back throw you will have more time and flare will be in time to land to prevent hunter to pounce you. I have hundred over hundreds hours of playing in invasions and I really enjoyed this game mode. I mentioned only a few tricks that might be usefull for a beginning. Altho, try to avoid playing in Countryside, hunter gets huge speed buff and it's way harder for you. Old town is good since if you get stuck spit on you and bomber are running to you just jump into the water and you are safe. Old town is good for DFA (Death From Above) and I am pretty sure it's more in favour for survivor than hunter in general. Being a survivor is easier in general unlike hunter, he takes a lot of time to master but after that you can demolish everyone you meet. Either way, adding some guides to get some more insight information about the mode. Some things might be outdated but it should be good anyways I think.

It will take time to get better but trust me it's worth it. Good luck.

There's some useful info there, but please for the love of god use some paragraphs. Didn't know about hunter being faster in the countryside. Didn't seem any different to me, but who knows.

Anyway, that much info is gonna overwhelm OP, one step at a time.

Not at all thank you for the info. I'll just read it at my leisure. Thank you both for all the answers.

The only one I'm still really concerned about is night hunter frequency.
