Game Black Screens immediately upon startup, missing video and audio .scr files.

I bought this game a while back and haven't played it because it never started. Tried finding a fix to it but everything I found didn't resolve it. Decided to try again and noticed that I don't have the "Settings" file that contain the video and audio .scr files in my Documents > DyingLight > out > settings. Is that something that can cause my game to black screen on startup?

Can anyone point me in the right direction? It's starting to drive me crazy.

I was able to fix it, download Nvidia Geforce Experience, then go to dying light, click details, on the right side above the settings youll see a wrench that says custom settings when you hover over it, click on it and set game to windowed instead of fullscreen. worked for me!

Did not work unfortunately, but thank you for the recommendation. It still black screens and wont respond immediately after opening, in windowed or fullscreen.
