There's two endings only, you get the achievement no matter which one you pick.
You simply have to go back to the damn to repeat the choice for the ending.
But with the subtle nature of DL2 and everything beyone DL1 such as Bad Blood not being confirmed Canon we cant know
Personally I think the Fight The Mother ending is the canon one but thats just my opinion, It just feels like the thing Crane would do, especially if you take into account his inital goal. and that the cure can only be found in the city. what if it somehow survives the nuke? then what? :D
Its interesting to think about for sure
The "two" endings where you use the nuke are the realistic aka cowards end.
The ending where crane goes bananas and goes on to live as a mutated is the only one that opens the path to a sequel and is the "videogame way".
* Spoilers *
People aside from Crane already escaped the quarantine, the president who was bitten and lost his leg in Dying light hops on a helicopter with his family to GTFO, the 2 brothers crash a train through the mountain and tell you they survived / escaped at the end of the following if you listen to their radio call after completing that questline. Brecken and the barge are no where to be found on free roam after the end, There's even a guy on TV saying he escaped ... though that is likely a cover up and not a real survivor. The point is that we know people have escaped ... we don't know how many more made it out.
You also have notes ... and you know, the evidence all around which indicate that the army are eventually going to fail in holding the walls.
Then you have the fact that the GRE is trying to weaponize the virus, which you can infer means there are other facilities / labs where the virus is being stored / tested.
Both endings can easily lead onto DL2.
The question I suppose you have to ask yourself is thus.
Do you believe Crane is ignorant enough to ignore the fact literally staring him the face at the end of the following? that the cure does not work, that he is doomed and that the 'cure' is actually a huge threat to the rest of the planet.
Sure, him being doomed does not automatically mean that everyone other survivor is as well ... but many are (the blue mist ceremonies, maybe elsewhere too). Do you think he is willing to take that risk on behalf of the rest of the world ... knowing what he does, for the sake of the 'few' who still survive in Harran and 'might' have a chance?
I don't think he is.
