[SOLVED] Game Won't Launch suddenly
SOLVED: I had to run repair on the Visual C++ 2012 x64 install from the programs list and that fixed it!
Thank you everyone who helped!

UPDATE: I copied both msvcp110.dll and msvcr110.dll from my Windows directory to the Dying Light folder and am now getting the error: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)."

I played the game a week ago and had no issues, then yesterday I bought a new DLC for it (possibly unrelated) and it wouldn't launch. Have tried reinstalling and am now going through troubleshooting in other posts, but wanted to add a +1 so hopefully the devs can fix this.

EDIT: Error when I try to launch the .exe directly says "The code execution cannot proceed because MSVCP110.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem."

have you tried verifying the integrity of game files in the settings?

I too have a startup problem. I have an i5 8th gen intel CPU and AMD 535 Radeon graphics card. I know that its below system requirements. But I have been able to play upto 100 hrs in the past by overclocking the performance. Now I try to play the game, it shows a black screen and doesn't start but I hear a stutter of the game audio with black screen. Has my PC worn out?

Yes, first thing I did. It's so second-nature I forgot to add that. lol

^This is what I would try first.

Forgot the x86 version initially, but went back and grabbed that one and the issue remains.

UPDATE: Did a full uninstall of x86 and x64 Visual C++ and reinstalled both with multiple restarts in between. Still no luck.

^ lol @ Method 1: Check your Recycle bin.

You've done Method 3 already, so try Method 2.

ETA: In the comments section found in the above link I spotted this, thought it was worth a mention.

Just before you posted this answer, I was in the process of trying the method 3. I installed the C++ Redistributable 2015 and 2014 and it did not work. Then I went to the Adobe forums and checked the requirements for Photoshop Creative Cloud 2015, and found out that they use C++ Redistributable 2012. So I uninstalled the "old" one and installed it again and everything is fine now.

Also from the comments;

I would also suggest you to

1. Go to Control Panel

2. Click Programs and Features

3. Right-click your Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable programs

4. Click "Repair" if shown.

This worked for me, hope it works for you too!

Just found that on Youtube, but still no luck.

Yes, for both the x86 and x64 versions

Since you played successfully a week ago have you installed any new software or made any other system related changes, no matter how seemingly unrelated?

Literally nothing except buying that new DLC.

Well, I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything at least 3-5 times each and I'm out of ideas. I'm glad for any new suggestions, but until then I guess I wait and see if whatever broke fixes itself.
