So newbie here i dont know what to expect from following, or the best way to get access to the weapons. I tried harran prison to my failure. Too much at my skill level i guess.
Im excited about the bow and shotgun particularly, but i dont want or have the time tonight to spend hours tracking them down

You can only get weapons from the following by playing that mode.
only after you started playing the following you can get some of the weapon in the main game but certainly not all of them.. (just play 1st mission and they should begin to appear at shops in main game)

im still quite early in the story, 20%. i did alot of side quests and took alot of time skill grinding not realizing how long the game was. so ive got 25 agil and power and some pretty mean enemies but thats how long it took me to figure out SOME of the game. I still dont know the dev weapons or whats generally considered op must build, or how to get all the prints *i think im missing home run*

So id like to just grab the weapons and advance the story and learn how to play some more, theres still alot of main content to unlock. Frankly ive got a crossbow already but a new shotgun would be nice...

If you are talking about Crossbows, You need to get blueprint for compound crossbow, to craft Heat Wave, Crossbow. Compound cross blueprint you only get in the Countryside. You also need it, to make or crossbow too. Now the shot gun, if you are talking semi auto. You can find the in the Slum's. Once you legend up enough. I found one just after legend 25. New, Grades and strength of weapons, are released over the coarse as you legend up. Also the proper assignment of legend points, has a direct affect on your weapons and health. You can also respec them to what you need them for, the changing events. Guns, fist's bow's.
