All good, thanks very much for addressing my questions.
I suppose the only one left is how does gear operate offline? Is it kind of like The Division then with Safe Houses?
You can also do a new game plus or change difficulty level with any character, but you may lose a very few possible rewards for playing all in that one difficulty level for the first time. There is also a New Game Plus to try another difficulty, you get to keep all your skills and gear that you earned previously, but the enemies are a bit harder than just the new difficulty level, mostly minor amount probably like 10% max tougher.
When you play ONLINE, the player who HOSTS the game, determines the story progress. Not sure exactly how inventory works in co-op, other than you start with your carried gear. I presume you also have access to all your Safe House storage even in co-op, but I don't play co-op.
Awesome!
Thanks so much for the detail there.
Last question... promise!
What are the essential DLC to enjoy this game?
Thanks again all!
I'd say the Volitile Hunter ( which is free this week ! ) for the wicked blueprints and if you enjoy using a nice craftable Bow right out of the gate, the Harran Ranger.
Dying Light's success and longevity ( imo ) are in a large part due to the fact that you can approach the game in so many ways, making it easy to suit your personal style.
Other gameplay elements I can tell you right now that are very... VERY casual friendly so no challenge here at all.
Game is focused on combat.
I am modding this game for myself and I did lots of tweaks to make this game more challenging and way less casual player friendly handicaps are reduced or disabled by me. That way game is playable for me.
It have cool atmosphere. I love really dark realistic nights. Here you can find it but by default they are very short.
In ti not immersive game. Imagine poor slums like area but you will see while playing that everyone is rich. Lots of stuff to loot and lots of money to be found. I do not have this problem as I moded it heavily so it is more immersive with my tweaks.
This game is not that mod friendly like Fallout 3, 4 so no way to add true survival elements.
I recommend playing it only with mods if you are not casual player that do not mind lots of handicaps.
ok, this is very good to know. Thanks.
Where can I find these mods?
Edit:
Ok a Workshop... this game is looking better and better... lol!
Could you please tell/direct me to which mods you are referring to?
Thanks again to all!
I was using nexusmods but then I made my one big mod :) From other creators i am using only usable watch. Game by default do not chave checking watch so I use mod and I can press button and character shows what hour it is currently. Rest tweaks are totally mine and for my taste. :)
